Dr Paraskevas of Vein Health Medical Clinic (part of Paras Clinic) was once again honoured to represent the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery (ACCS) and the Australasian College of Phlebology (ACP) at the Annual Sclerotherapy Workshop for ACCS registrars in Melbourne.
The one-day workshop was held in the prestigious level 35 executive boardroom at the Sofitel Hotel, on Collins Street, Melbourne.
Morning lectures included the basics of Sclerotherapy, injection techniques, sclerosant solutions, complications of treatment, and management of a variety of venous conditions. The lectures were followed by a demonstration of sclerotherapy on several patients in the accredited surgical rooms of the Vein Health Medical Clinic. Registrars were able to see the sclerotherapy process from start to finish and were shown proper technique, preparation of injection solutions and peri/post-operative care. The importance of medical stockings application was discussed.
In addition to holding a position as the Committee Chair for Continuing Professional Education, Dr Paraskevas has also been an examiner, supervisor and trainer for the Registrars of the College of Phlebology and College of Cosmetic Surgeons. He strongly believes in educating the up and coming vein specialists and improving the standard of care across Australia.
